Update: 5-29-2008

Mr. Banks was taken to the vet for his annual check up. We had his teeth floated again and his vaccinations are complete. The doctor said Mr. Banks is about 75 pounds within his regular weight.  We were also given the go ahead to start him on light riding. Below is a picture of Mr. Banks with his first riders since coming to Lusco Farms. It is fantastic to see him healthy and having a job again.

Mr Banks July 2009 - He still has trouble keeping on weight. He did get a good report from the Vet this year. He continues to improve but will never get back to the weight  he was in his prime. He is still a handsome old man!

 Welcome Nestor

June 2009

Nestor is a 5 year old donkey that we found at a horse sale in Nebraska. He was scared and shy when we saw him in the outside pen. We could tell that he had been neglected by the condition of his coat and his hoofs. We waited until midnight to bid on him. We had to drive 80 miles home to get our trailer and back the next day to pick him up. We just couldn't let this little guy go to another place to be neglected. He has adjusted to life at Lusco Farms and follows Callie around like a little kid.

WELCOME POCKET

September 2009

Pocket is a 5 month old pony who was living in an over breeding situation. When Pocket and the other ponies were brought into the sale they were matted and his hooves had started to slipper a bit. We will geld him next spring and work on ground manners. Who knows maybe we will teach him to drive a cart!

 Welcome MS. Molly

September 2009

Molly is a 20 plus mare that has become the suragate mom to pocket. She is a very kind spirited mare who has suffered an injury from being rode very hard and not seeking medical attention when she injuried a hind leg. Calcium deposits have solidified on the front side of her leg preventing her from using the joint. Molly will need a home with limited movement. She will also be put on a diet to keep her at a lighter weight to prevent further stress on her leg. She the slide show (below) to see what sesamoiditis looks like.
